DIRECTIONAL SIGNS DISPLAYED ON THE MAJOR ROADS

Bordered on the east by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and on the west by undulating hills carpeted in sugar cane, the region has been divided into nine self-drive “TOUR” routes. The National and Provincial road signage indicating the Southern Explorer Routes is an essential tool for any tourist visiting the South Coast.

THERE ARE 4 ACCREDITED AND 4 PILOT BLUE FLAG BEACHES ON THE SOUTH COAST.

THE BLUE FLAG IS AN EXCLUSIVE ECO-LABEL WITH STRICT CRITERIA DEALING WITH WATER QUALITY, ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND INFORMATION, ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND SAFETY.
