The Southern Explorer is the ultimate Map Based Route Guide for each and every kind of holiday activity and accommodation need on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa!

With over R 3 million worth of National and Provincial road signage displayed the Southern Explorer is well branded, and an essential tool for any tourist visiting the South Coast. Specialised Maps of each tour have been designed by the Southern Explorer Association to direct tourists directly to their destination.

The Southern Explorer Brand is positioned in the market as a quality controlled product. By becoming a member of the Association your establishment is marketed together with a network of superior tourism offerings highlighting the best of the South Coast.

Now in its seventh year the SEA once again welcomes new members who add to the unique 'tourism experience' on all nine routes profiled in this publication. Membership is open to those tourism vendors who fall into the categories 'where to stay', 'where to eat', 'where to shop' and 'what to do'.

The Region has been divided into nine self-drive “TOUR” routes:

40 000 are distributed with the assistance of Brochure Management throughout KZN and South Africa.
50 000 are distributed through the Local Tourism Infrastructure via Southern Explorer Membership and UGU South Coast Tourism offices.
The 40 000 remaining brochures are for strategic distribution projects such as Toll Reach, Car Rental Agencies and targeted inserts.

THE BLUE FLAG IS AN EXCLUSIVE ECO-LABEL WITH STRICT CRITERIA DEALING WITH WATER QUALITY, ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND INFORMATION, ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND SAFETY.
