Situated in Umtentweni, a natural garden suburb nestling on the shores of the Indian Ocean, we are just 2km from the Tweni swimming beach, 3km from the bustling cosmopolitan town of Port Shepstone, close to the hype of South Coast attractions and just off the major Cape to Duban route.
The Bed and Breakfast, which is set on a hilltop amongst the trees in a large tranquil subtropical garden, was designed for the hot KZN summers, where airy rooms with high ceilings make the use of the ceiling fans unnecessary, except for the hottest of nights. Each en-suite bedroom is also equipped with a television, tea & coffee facilities, a fridge and fluffy cream towels which are changed daily. The décor is designed to make you feel at home with uniform vivid curtains and a stunning metal bedroom suite, with dressing table/desk. Whilst cream dominates, each room has its own individual colour scheme to co-ordinate with the curtains. Most rooms have views over the stunning garden and some have small sea views.
The night time silence punctuated only by the occasional call of an owl, and our luxury “Cloud Nine” mattresses designed specifically for the hospitality industry, will ensure you sleep well and awake refreshed to a delicious breakfast, freshly cooked to your order and served outdoors next to the sparkling swimming pool.
What better way to start your day?
Braai (barbeque) facilities are provided close to the pool and a portable braai is available, should you wish to make use of the seclusion of our extensive gardens. The busy business traveller can pre-order a delicious home cooked three course evening meal on week-nights. Recommended restaurants are just 500 meters from our door, or if you have time, venture further afield to experience other local restaurants. Not hungry? Most take-away franchises are available just 2km away – or have a pizza delivered.
While the house is in the shade of the trees, the swimming pool feels the full effect of the sun which shines almost every day of the year, making the water balmy and inviting – or you can just relax on a pool lounger, or in the shade of the gazebo with a sundowner from our honesty bar after your busy day. The guest lounge is furnished with comfortable modern furniture for you to relax whilst watching your favourite DSTV programmes.
Take a stroll under the trees along our “jungle path” or sit on a bench watching the birds and monkeys who visit our garden for the variety of nuts, berries and other exciting food treats growing here.
Should it be required we can assist you with fax facilities, arrange tours or transport and make restaurant reservations on your behalf. We have copies of the local restaurant menus in reception and an information folder of local attractions and take-away menus in all the rooms. If you wish to have an early start we can offer you a packed breakfast or lunch, and for the long-staying guest, a laundry service is available. There is plenty of secure shady parking for your car, boat or trailer in our extensive car park which provides more than one shaded parking bay for each room.
